Helping students with disabilities launch their careers
Community Partnerships, Inc. (CPI) is a proud partner in the Cary/
RDU Project SEARCH program. This unique school-to-work program
helps high school students with intellectual/developmental
disabilities learn valuable workplace skills while they explore career
options.
Project SEARCH is a one-year program available to students in
extended content classrooms in Wake County. During the school
year, students participate in 3 strategically designed internships with
the program’s local business partner, Embassy Suites Raleigh-
Durham. Students also receive:
• Classroom instruction
• Career exploration
• Relevant job-skills training
When the school year ends, CPI provides employment services,
including job search assistance, on-the-job training, and long-term
follow-along services to help students maintain their jobs.
Along with our Project SEARCH partners—Embassy Suites in Cary, the
Wake County Public School System, and the NC Division of Vocational
Rehabilitation—CPI is dedicated to helping students with disabilities
find jobs that match their career goals and that pay competitive
wages.
