“Meet the Team!”
Welcome to the Cognitive Rehabilitation (CR) Corner!
The Cognitive Rehabilitation Corner is a blog brought to you by the Brain Injury Support Services (BISS) Program at Community Partnerships (CPI), which will be posted weekly on CPI’s website. The BISS Program works to help individuals who have sustained a brain injury secure gainful employment through a series of stages: assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, career exploration, employment, and job retention.
To find more about the BISS Program, please visit https://www.communitypartnerships.org/who-we-server/brain-injury/.
This blog will be a resource page for all things cognitive rehabilitation, from research to consumer stories to staff interviews. First though, let’s meet the team behind this campaign!
CAROL COLLINS is the Director of Vocational Services at Community Partnerships. Since joining the company in August 2003, she has been responsible for overseeing and managing the Brain Injury Department which includes the BISS Program, the TBI Case Management Program, and all services contracted under the TBI Waiver. She received her master’s in Public Administration from NC State and entered the social service field to help individuals find stability in their lives.
LINDSAY PRENOVEAU is Community Partnerships’ Brain Injury Coordinator, where she manages the day to day operation of the Brain Injury Support Services (BISS) Program. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from NC State, Lindsay worked as a personal care attendant for an individual with a brain injury. This led to her work in the brain injury field, where she is particularly concerned with helping individuals reach their personal and vocational goals. Afterwards, she attended UNC-Chapel Hill’s Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Master’s Program to continue her work within the field. She has been at Community Partnerships since 2019.
RACHEL WEBER is a Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist at Community Partnerships where she has worked with consumers to improve mental skills after an Acquired Brain Injury since July 2013. After gaining a bachelor’s in Psychology from Appalachian State University, Rachel pursued a master’s in Rehabilitative Counseling and Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill where she fell in love with helping individuals with disabilities re-engage themselves in the larger community.
DAVID HOLLAND is a Case Manager at Community Partnerships, where he has worked with consumers to connect them to social services and increased self-sufficiency since April 2024. As a Case Manager, David helps consumers enroll in the program, develop goals, assesses a consumer’s needs outside the program, and connects them to beneficial resources. He began working in the Brain Injury field at a post-acute residential rehabilitation provider in college. After gaining a master’s degree in Rehabilitation, David has worked in residential services, direct care, supervision, quality assurance, and case management.
ANNABELLE OBERST was Community Partnerships’ Summer Intern. She is a rising senior at UNC-Chapel Hill studying Human Development & Family Science and Public Policy. In her internship, she was responsible for developing a social media campaign on Cognitive Rehabilitation for CPI. She got her start in the brain injury field by volunteering with Community Partnerships in 2021.
