Durham County Medicaid

Medicaid provides medical coverage, based on income and assets, for families with children, Adults 65 and older or disabled (including Long Term Care). Health Choice is for children in families up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.   

Wake County Medicaid

Wake County Human Services administers the Medicaid program, an assistance program that helps pay medical bills for some people who have low income and cannot afford health care. Funding for Medicaid comes from federal, state and county sources. Medicaid for adults and Medicaid for children are separate programs.

Job Accommodation Network (JAN)

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is the leading source of free, expert, and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues. Working toward practical solutions that benefit both employer and employee, JAN helps people with disabilities enhance their employability, and shows employers how to capitalize on the value and talent that people with disabilities add to the workplace.

JAN’s trusted consultants offer one-on-one guidance on workplace accommodations, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related legislation, and self-employment and entrepreneurship options for people with disabilities. Assistance is available both over the phone and online. Those who can benefit from JAN’s services include private employers of all sizes, government agencies, employee representatives, and service providers, as well as people with disabilities and their families.

Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration delivers services through a nationwide network of over 1,400 offices that include regional offices, field offices, card centers, teleservice centers, processing centers, hearing offices, the Appeals Council, and our State and territorial partners, the Disability Determination Services. It also has a presence in U.S. embassies around the globe. For the public, the Social Security Administration is the “face of the government.” The rich diversity of our employees mirrors the public we serve.

    

JobLink Career Center Wake County

JobLink Career Centers are user-friendly facilities, which provide job seekers and employers access to a variety of employment, and training services all under one roof. The JobLink Career Center makes the best use of scarce resources while serving all citizens of North Carolina. Staff work together as a team to provide the most comprehensive and efficient workforce development system possible.

North Carolina Association for Persons in Supported Employment

The North Carolina Association for Persons in Supported Employment is the statewide chapter of a national organization (APSE), which focuses exclusively on integrated employment and career advancement opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

The United Way of the Greater Triangle

The United Way of the Greater Triangle brings together local partner agencies, nonprofits, government volunteers and experts in Durham, Johnston, Orange and Wake counties to focus on lasting changes to key issues.

Community Partnerships, Inc. is proud to be a certified partner agency of the United Way of the Greater Triangle, which provides funding for our Supported Employment program.

Wake County Human Services

Wake County Human Services is the consolidation of programs and services formerly carried out by several separate departments and offices: Social Services, Public Health, Mental Health, Job Training, Child Support, Housing and Transportation.

The North Carolina Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services

The North Carolina Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services provides counseling, training, education, transportation, job placement, assistive technology and other support services. These services are provided to people with physical, psychiatric or intellectual disabilities to assist them with living independently and with finding a job and staying on the job.

The division (known to many simply as “VR”) has local field offices and facilities that serve every county in North Carolina. We also directly serve businesses and other organizations by referring to them individuals we have helped prepare for employment and who are well-matched for jobs with these organizations.
