Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina

Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina provides education programs, health care, and advocacy to help reduce unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, especially among teens, people with limited incomes, and the uninsured.

Achievement Academy of Durham

Achievement Academy of Durham teaches and supports young adults who have dropped out of school in order to reconnect them to the opportunities an education provides. AAD students gain critical reading skills, earn their NC Equivalency Diploma and complete college preparatory training so they can succeed in a post-secondary program and attain sustainable employment.

Haven House Services

Haven House Services was founded in 1973 as a private, non-profit agency to serve the needs of young people in difficult situations. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of citizens of the local community dedicated to helping these youths and their families overcome their problems and become productive members of the community.

Wake Technical Community College

Wake Technical Community College (WAKE TECH) is a two-year, public institution serving Raleigh, North Carolina, and surrounding Wake County. It was chartered in 1958 as the Wake County Industrial Education Center and began operation in 1963 with 34 full-time students. In 1964 it was formally dedicated as the W.W. Holding Industrial Education Center. The college grew rapidly, and in 1987 its name was changed to Wake Technical Community College.

Wake Tech is part of the North Carolina Community College System and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  It is currently the second largest community college in the state, with an annual enrollment of more than 65,000 students.

Durham Technical Community College

For nearly 50 years, Durham Technical Community College has provided high-quality, affordable, and convenient technical and career education; served as the springboard to a bachelor’s degree; enabled tens of thousands of Triangle residents to enjoy continuing education offerings; and given many thousands more a second chance at success through adult literacy programs.

Employment Security Commission

The mission of the Employment Security Commission is to promote and sustain the economic well being of North Carolinians in the world marketplace by providing high quality and accessible workforce-related services. The Commission provides employment services, unemployment insurance, and labor market information to the State`s workers, employers, and the public. These services promote economic stability and growth, development of a skilled workforce, and a world class economy for North Carolina.

JobLink Career Center Durham County

Durham's JobLink Career Center System is a partnership of local workforce development professionals providing an array of services geared to assisting:

  • Area businesses with recruiting, retention and training;
  • Area residents with career awareness, work readiness and employment search

Oversight regarding activities under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and programs within the Durham JobLink Career Center system is provided by the Durham Workforce Development Board.

JobLink Career Center Wake County

JobLink Career Centers are user-friendly facilities, which provide job seekers and employers access to a variety of employment, and training services all under one roof. The JobLink Career Center makes the best use of scarce resources while serving all citizens of North Carolina. Staff work together as a team to provide the most comprehensive and efficient workforce development system possible.

Durham Workforce Development Board

The Durham Workforce Development Board (DWDB) was established by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and is a consortium agreement between the City and County of Durham. The purpose of the board is to facilitate, plan and coordinate workforce development resources to maximize the efforts of government, business, and education. Through collaborative partnerships, the board is the local policy organization responsible for the planning, oversight and coordination of workforce development initiatives that help support economic development in Durham. It provides leadership to the local workforce system by promoting a responsive workforce development system, providing guidance and exercising independent oversight regarding activities under the Workforce Investment Act and programs within the Durham JobLink Career Center system.

The Durham Workforce Development Board provides funding for the Durham YES program at Community Partnerships, Inc.

Capital Area Workforce Development Board

The Capital Area Workforce Development Board is a public-private partnership that focuses on economic development by ensuring the local workforce has the skills, training and education to meet the needs of local employers. The board oversees several programs in Wake and Johnston Counties designed to serve businesses, individuals and youth. These programs deliver services that meet local needs.

The Capital Area Workforce Development Board provides funding for the Wake County YES program at Community Partnerships, Inc.
